Data can be the most important aspect of a GxP organization. Storage complexity and requirements are increasing, and cloud solutions can be an attractive option for maintaining this ever-growing pool of data. When considerations are addressed, organizations can find ways to safely and effectively embrace these cloud solutions to increase efficiency with which data users and owners do their business.
Recently, a data storage group I’m part of (associated with AAPS) took it upon themselves to answer and understand some of the questions and challenges associated with data storage within our industry. Specifically, we were looking at some of the challenges related to data within a regulatory space. There has been a big push when it comes to digital transformation and moving data to the cloud – but what are the regulatory issues associated with using cloud data storage? We felt there would be quite an audience out there that would be interested in the considerations we should all be discussing; whether there is a need to migrate data to the cloud.
The following white paper reviews the regulatory compliance and cybersecurity risk, as it pertains to the confidentiality the integrity and the availability of data.
