Like many vendors and service providers within the pre-clinical space, KCAS is getting ready for the upcoming Society of Toxicology (SOT) annual conference in Nashville, and the KCAS booth is one you should make a point to visit. At SOT, KCAS will showcase its extensive bioanalytical capabilities, including expertise in developing and validating bioanalytical methods, analyzing small and large molecules, and measuring biomarkers in various matrices. The team at KCAS is equipped to handle projects of any size and complexity, and they work closely with clients to provide customized solutions that meet their unique needs.

KCAS Director of Analytical Chemistry and GLP Pharma Formulations, David Masters-Moore, will be on hand at the conference to present three presentations on dose form analysis.

In preparation for the event, David shared some thoughts on the industry’s trends and KCAS’ expertise in this area: “It feels like the industry is shifting towards large molecules, with more than 60% of new drugs being biopharmaceuticals, peptides, proteins, and antibodies. However, there is a lack of large molecule expertise in many pre-clinical tox analytical labs, which has led to a high demand for Contract Research Organizations (CROs) with large molecule expertise.”

Both large and small pharma have had trouble finding CROs with the necessary skills to analyze large molecules. KCAS, on the other hand, has been able to meet this demand with more than 70% of its studies involving large molecule projects in the past three years. KCAS has been able to solve difficult analytical issues related to large molecules thanks to the complementary skills of their team. Some clients approached KCAS with difficult analyses, unsure if the team could handle them, but were pleasantly surprised by the results.

During his talks, David will present case studies that demonstrate KCAS’ ability to solve large molecule analytical issues, as well as small molecule case studies. He’ll also discuss how KCAS can meet fast timelines, with some clients giving them as little as two weeks to prepare for a study. Despite the short notice, KCAS has developed and validated methods quickly and completed sample analysis within three to five days.

For those interested in dose form analysis, David’s presentations are not to be missed.

His first presentation will be on Monday, March 20th, in the afternoon at the KCAS booth, and attendees can expect to learn more about the industry’s trends and KCAS’ expertise in this area. You’ll also find David at the KCAS booth holding presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

In addition to the presentations, visitors to the KCAS booth can expect to have their questions answered, whether they’re curious about specific analyses or just looking to learn more about KCAS and its services.
