Pharmacological activity of a drug molecule is influenced by many factors. The way a molecule is metabolized can affect the safety of the drug and its efficacy. The identification of those metabolites is a critical step early in the drug development pipeline – discovery phase. Knowing the structure of the drug, targeted experiments can be designed to characterize those metabolites.
If you have known metabolites we can quantitate them by utilizing metabolite MRM transitions, if you have unknown metabolites we can suite of typical MRM metabolite transitions to be able to detect whether or not those metabolites exist on that channel. Further KCAS can use enzymatic hydrolysis for the presence of glucuronide, sulfate and taurine conjugates.
